Return to Buchenwald

In April of 2011, Sidney attended the 66th anniversary commemoration of the liberation of Buchenwald Concentration Camp with his wife Jean, son Leon Finkel and daughter Ruth Wade.  He returned again in 2015 with his granddaughter Bari Finkel, and companion Barbara Agee. On this trip he also visited Dora Mittelbau, the subcamp where his father died.  After returning, Bari wrote about the experience, Visiting Buchenwald with My Grandfather, published in Tablet Magazine.
